In this food tour, while wandering in Portugal from North to South, you will explore the absolute best of the Portuguese gastronomy. Such heritage must be experienced and tasted. This tour is an invitation for discovering the best food and wine made by some of the best Portuguese chefs and to stay at some incredible boutique hotels.
Your starting point will be in Lisbon, from there you will also visit Sintra and Cascais. Some of the activities include experiences with famous Portuguese chefs or a cocktail and beer workshop. You will then explore the regions of Algarve, Alentejo, the Centre of Portugal and Porto & Douro. Each region will give you the opportunity to meet some famous local chefs, get to know their gastronomic culture and learn with the various workshops related to food and wine. Indulge in this tour that will awake your senses and improve your taste for the Portuguese Cuisine.

Welcome to Lisbon Airport and delivery of your tour booklet with unique tips. You will then pick up your car from the airport.
Sleep at the Verride Palácio de Santa Catarina in Lisbon historical centre.
Gastronomic Experience with Chef Vitor Sobral at Peixaria da Esquina.
Travel through Portugal by the hands of the Chef Vitor Sobral. Considered by many as the big enabler of the Portuguese modern cuisine, he will escort you in a selection of ingredients for lunch, with sea tasting, at Peixaria da Esquina.
Meeting at 10 am for breakfast with the Chef at Padaria da Esquina and for the presentation of the menu to be cooked for lunch. At 11 am, go with the Chef on his purchases at the Campo de Ourique Market with a brief explanation of the products. At 12.30 pm, arrival at Peixaria da Esquina and preparation of the lunch that you will have with the chef.
Before the day ends get ready for a Red Frog Cocktail Workshop at the Monkey Mash Bar with Paulo Gomes. In this cocktail workshop, you will learn how to make an infusion and redistillation, with a selection of national botanists and with an individual sample offer (250ml per person). The meeting is at 10 pm, where Paulo Gomes will present his work. Paulo is responsible for cocktails at Monkey Mash and Red Frog, the latter considered one of the best bars in the world (2017 edition of The World's 50 Best Bars). This workshop has a duration of 2h.

Today you will have a Gastronomic Experience with Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa at his atelier in Lisbon. Meeting point is at 10 am in Mercado da Ribeira for a breakfast with the Chef and presentation of the menu to be prepared for lunch. At 11 am you will have the chance to go with the Chef shopping at Mercado da Ribeira and with a brief explanation of the products. By 12.30 pm, arrival at his atelier* and preparation of the lunch with wine tasting from Lisbon region. At 1.30 pm, lunch with the Chef.
* does not include travel from the market to the atelier, so you can either travel in your own vehicle or taxi / uber.
Sleep at Verride Palácio de Santa Catarina.
This day you will head to Algarve.
Visit the Salmarim salt pans where the best marine salt is produced. Here small pools retain the seawater that evaporates naturally through sun heat leaving only the crystals. You will discover an entire ecosystem and at the end, the host will prepare some snacks, all designed to enhance the salt flower.
Sleep at Grand House Hotel in Vila Real de Santo António.
On this day, visit the olive grove at Monterosa. Discover the olive tree culture, the olive oil production process and participate in an olive oil tasting.
For dinner, go to Alvor, for a unique Oyster Experience with Chef João Oliveira.
Gastronomic Experience Chef João Oliveira
If you are a fan of oysters this is undoubtedly an unmissable experience. Chef João Oliveira will pick up this very special product in the Ria do Alvor, and the dinner menu will have a ria flavour in his starred restaurant, Vista.
Program: Participate in the collection of oysters in Ria do Alvor and do the tasting on-site accompanied with champagne. After this unforgettable tour, an equally memorable dinner follows, with a personalized menu by the Chef accompanied by a wine pairing.
Sleep at Bela Vista Hotel.
Head to Arraiolos where you will cook with an Oenologist at Herdade de Coelheiros.
Herdade de Coelheiros proposes that you learn to make a blend with your winemaker. This, which is one of the most historic wine references in the Alentejo, proposes a very original experience.
Program: Elaboration of a wine blend made directly from the barrels with the help of the winemaker from Herdade. Take the result of this blend with you and age it in your home.
In the afternoon take some time to visit places like Arraiolos and Estremoz.
Sleep at Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, in Monforte.
On this day, Chef Filipe Ramalho brings us the remarkable and genuine Alentejo flavours in an exceptional experience. Through the Monforte landscape, we tour the local producers, the typical flavours of this area where time has a different rhythm.
Program: Chef Filipe Ramalho accompanies him on a visit to the local producers who are his greatest inspiration. A barrel wine tasting precedes dinner accompanied by Torre de Palma wines.

Head to Viseu to discover the centre of Portugal. At Quinta de Lemos you will have a wine tasting and a picnic in the vineyards.
Sleep at Avenida Boutique Hotel, in Viseu.
Heading to Porto and on the way, we will suggest a place for you to have the typical and delicious roasted suckling pig, in Mealhada.
Sleep at Infante Sagres Hotel, in Porto.
On this day you will have a cooking class with Chef Rui Paula at Casa de Chá da Boa Nova Restaurant (2 Michelin stars). Enter the world of creative cuisine, where technique and flavour are perfectly balanced. Discover the cuisine and strong personality of Chef Rui Paula at his iconic restaurant, the Casa de Chá da Boa Nova, an essential symbol of Portuguese gastronomy.
Program: In an intimate class, collaborate with the Chef and help prepare the most representative recipes for your kitchen. Taste the final result and make a tasting of your dishes accompanied by the wine selection prepared by the restaurant sommelier.
Sleep at Infante Sagres.
On this day, you will head to Amarante city. Art and gastronomy come together to welcome you to Amarante through the hands of Chef Tiago Bonito at Casa da Calçada. Let yourself be captivated by the birthplace of the painter Amadeu Souza Cardoso and be amazed by the best flavours of the region, presented artistically in the dish.
Program: Guided visit to the Amadeo de Souza Cardoso Museum that will set the tone for a special dinner. Walk through the historic area of Amarante and visit the main local pastry shops to discover the region's sweets (Amarantinos sweets). Ascent to the Calçada vineyards, Quinta da Calçada green wine tasting, followed by dinner with a tasting menu and wine selection.
Sleep at Casa da Calçada Relais & Chateaux.
This day is dedicated to the Douro region. In the morning, you will do a boat trip, so you experience the unique views of the Douro River.
In the evening you will have a gastronomic experience in Casa de Covela, in Baião. Contemplate the landscape of the Douro River on an intimate night at Quinta da Covela where music and gastronomy come together to provide a concert dinner in the ruins of the farm.
Program: Dinner in the ruins of this emblematic farm in the Vinho Verde region, accompanied by a selection of wines produced there. During dinner, watch a concert produced especially for you.
Sleep at Quinta da Pacheca Wine Hotel.
During the morning you will have some free time to enjoy the region.
In the afternoon, have a unique time in Quinta da Gricha, tasting some Douro Wines and tasting the menus prepared by Chef Vasco Coelho Santos. The wines of the farm and the emblematic landscape of the Douro will be the inspiration, for this one who is considered one of the most creative and irreverent chefs of the new generation.
Program: Visit the inspiring Douro region with Chef Vasco Coelho Santos. Dinner will be prepared in tune with Churchill's wines produced on this exquisite farm.
Sleep at Quinta da Gricha.
In the morning, the Chef will prepare breakfast for you and will be your host on a guided walk through the vineyards, where you will have the chance to do a wine tasting.
This is the last day of your tour. Head to Porto airport for departure.
This tour is self-drive so it’s up to you to decide your date of departure, we will be here! Please note you will use your rented car for traveling around.
