The Experience

Bike on one of the most interesting ways: the Portuguese way of Camino to Santiago. This program links the city of Viana do Castelo, in Portugal, to Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, Spain. The route will take you through some parts of beautiful coastlines of both northern Portugal and Galicia. Discover the Portuguese way of pilgrimage, away from the crowds, with space and time to connect to your inner self. Follow the Atlantic Ocean and its different landscapes, exploring stunning coastal views and crossing several small towns rich in culture and full of the Camino spirit. Churches, monuments, and old crosses will tell the history of this way until you arrive at Obradoiro Square, which rests in front of the Saint James Cathedral, right in the heart of Santiago de Compostela.

Don’t forget your pilgrim's credential, a kind of passport which must be stamped on each stage of the route. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages and the document which was given to pilgrims for use as a safe-conduct. It must be stamped at least two times a day over the final 200 km (for pilgrims on bicycle). The only official and valid credential is issued by the Pilgrim Office.

Take the opportunity to embark on this adventure of Camino de Santiago by bike and get to know the north of Portugal and Galicia on a different approach, while indulging handpicked small boutique hotels: places full of character, delicious breakfasts and wonderfully comfortable beds. In Camino de Santiago, enjoy the mild weather, the rich history and culture, the traditional food, while biking in beautiful trails and rural landscapes.

Reasons To Love It
  • Connect with nature and live cultural experiences while visiting small towns and historic sites
  • The opportunity for self-reflection and feeling inner peace
  • Meet amazing people and share meaningful experiences with fellow pilgrims
