This charming rural tourism unit has maintained the characteristics and traces of the Alentejo, favouring local materials such as wood, schist and white walls, welcoming all who visit it in a traditional and genuine setting with unmatched comfort.
Herdade dos Castelejos consists of two houses. The big house has 5 bedrooms and a spacious lounge that invites guests to sit back and relax. The small house has one more bedroom and another cosy lounge. But the best for its nooks and crannies is the porch room, a space that can be used for leisure and contemplation, with a unique view over all the “Alentejo of this world.”
Herdade dos Castelejos is strategically located in one of the best places in Portugal for bird watching, the Castro Verde and Mértola area. This is the destination of the largest concentration of steppe birds in the country. Species such as the great bustard, the little bustard or the black-bellied sandgrouse and others can be found amid the endless.
