Once Upon a Time...

Castelo Rodrigo, a picturesque walled village in northern Portugal, charms its guests for its historical authenticity and medieval flair. Casa da Cisterna, lying within its walls matches the uniqueness of the area. Its 10 rooms and four suites all have a different decoration but do share the same cosy and comfortable atmosphere.

The outside green area with sunbeds, coloured flowers, birds chirping and a stunning swimming pool for the warm days, makes the perfect scenario for relaxing and pleasurable moments.

There are plenty of activities to do in the surroundings whether is a picnic in the countryside,  a donkey ride, birdwatching or hiking activities, there are options for every tastes and age.

Ana and António are the owners of Casa da Cisterna, born in Lisbon and surrendered to the charms of this land where they gave life to these houses in rural areas. Today they make known the Historical Village of Castelo Rodrigo and create the donkeys of Miranda that bring so much joy to the youngest.

Stroll in the countryside with a biologist as a guide or have a picnic in a beautiful place in the village. Visit the Côa River rock art prints. You can also explore the Natural Park and all the surrounding villages. Be sure to stop by the village store that offers a wide variety of local products including jams, wine and the region's tasty olive oil.

Check-in from 3 pm to 9 pm and from 9 am until midday. 

Reservations & Cancellation: a credit card is required to secure the booking. Until 8 days no penalty. After that full penalty is applied.
