Located in Peniche, near the fortress, there was once a grocery store that today is a boutique guest house that has retained its essence and its roots.

Mercearia d'Alegria is inspired by an old grocery store that existed and worked for more than 50 years. With the aim of continuing to provide a unique and true experience through this property dating back to 1936, the owners completely renovated the unit by the end of 2015. The result was a hotel with a soulful atmosphere, inspired by the memories and traditions of Peniche and , at the same time combines the new and the old, in order to keep memories alive, reusing everything that was possible.
